A new season 2016-17!

The seasons are changing - in the short-term, as winter hits the Northern Hemisphere, and the long-term - as weather patterns shift all over the globe. I seem to remember a time when it snowed in London at Christmas; but now it happens in February.... though somehow us Brits are still surprised every year when we have a late, Indian Summer that lasts into October :)

And here, in Goa, the rains start a little later and drift into October, or what we could call an English Summer :) Wet!

But this 'challenge' is just an invitation to surrender to the majesty of mother nature, to enjoy our own nature and remember what is really important in life. And as we make the final touches to this amazing centre, the rain on our skin turns into shivers of excited anticipation as we open our doors to another season.

What is so special about Goa? It's so simple; no gimics, no exceptional architecture nor fantastic rides; just an invitation to re-nature yourself. Take your shoes off and touch the ground. Drop any should'ves, could'ves, would'ves and choose to engage in worldy discourse with like minded souls; or not. Maybe just stop, ferme la bouche, soak up the equanimous nature of the locals and take some time for yourselves. Saab gutch milega - everything is possible!

We had a heart stopping moment this summer when we heard our beautiful brother, Vikas, left this world. Rather than lamenting in what we could feel is an early passing I would like to celebrate this season with the passion with which he lived. Someone who travelled hundreds of miles, spending almost 7 months away from his family to prepare food for others; and all I can see is his huge smile beaming back at me over the kitchen counter.

That sticks in my heart and I invite us all to tap into Vikas's harmony and joy. Let's look outward; to celebrate what we do have rather than want we don't; to recognise the good rather than regurgitate the bad; and to be tolerant of others for we know not what challenges they are facing.

We look forward to seeing you here again if you can make it and send a warm, joyous hug for those that won't.

Peace :)
