Yoga Holidays at Ashiyana Brazil

A Yoga Holiday at Ashiyana Brazil is like no other.  We have stylish and comfortable accommodation, our Ashiyana-style of yoga and treatments, delicious food, fresh water rivers to swim in, and one of the most fascinating areas on the planet to explore.

In Goa we have become rather famous for our delicious, healthy food, and whilst the menu will have a more Brazilian feel, it will retain its fresh, healthy appeal.  The Indian staples of rice, dhal and curry, are replaced by rice, beans and an incredible variety of vegetables, and since we’re located 1,5km outside of Alto, we provide a mid morning brunch, light lunch, and buffet dinner.

Aside from the yoga, spa treatments, and the beautiful land to explore at the Retreat, Alto is famous for its waterfalls, with over 200 in the immediate area, plus canyons, hot thermal springs and all sorts of watersports.  There are a myriad of adventure trips in the surrounding area, and we’re located just at the entrance to the Chapada Dos Veadeiros National Park (Unesco World Heritage site), which has spectacular walks and hikes to multiple waterfalls and incomparable vistas.

Alto is also famous for its crystals, as it sits on the largest crystalline bedrock in the world, including 200 million year old rock formations.  So if crystals are your thing, you’re in for a treat!

Our season in Brazil runs all year long, and the climate is divided into a dry season from April to October and a wet season from November to March. However, the rain only tends to be heavy during parts of December, January and February.  Day time temperatures are a balmy 25-30oC for most of the year, and at night the temperatures cool to a pleasant 12-15oC or so.  It’s advisable to bring a jumper or jacket for evenings, and something waterproof between December and February.
