Welcome: New 2018-19 Season

It begins with a warm embrace. The Goan heat encapsulates you as you exit the airport into the melle of people and taxis outside. On to the road that winds its way along the coast, the sea peeks at you through bougainvillea vines and swaying palm trees. The sound of birdsong dances with the honks of the inimitable Indian car horn. The road sneaks inland and starts to quieten as we head to the northernmost part of Goa. Past immovable cows we then heads back out towards the coast, and the smell of the ocean becomes palpable. The road then turns onto an inconspicuous track that leads to our winter home...home for the next seven months.
- The famous Ashiyana Bridge
Oh, it feels good to be back; big smiles, beautiful architecture hidden in a blanket of green, and a huge beach lapped by the warm Arabian sea. And maybe a change or two here and there as we continually nurture this special place as it does us.
- Glarmin & Rashmi - our lovely Reception team :)
We look forward to welcoming you here to share in this nurture over the winter ....or to make you wish that you could… ;-)
Our summer at Ashiyana has been a relatively busy one. As you have probably seen we have been raising funds via our Crowd Funding Campaign to open our Sister Retreat in Brazil. So a big thank you to everyone who has supported us in that. We raised a huge £23,824! We still have a long way to go but we have made an excellent start.
Here in Goa we have just started our Autumn Yoga Teacher Training (it's kind of Autumn here!) with the first of our trainees from our scholarship programme. We have also just opened up scholarship applications for next spring's training. So please do help us spread the word if you know anyone who would love to be a teacher, but cannot fund themselves through the process.
- Ashiyana Teacher Trainees October 2018
And the rest, you probably know already… relaxed yoga classes, chilled evening meditations, delicious fresh food with naughty but nice deserts… Week-long retreats with an eclectic mix of teachers... Ayurvedic and juice detoxes and rejuvenating massages…
Did we mention it's good to be back?
So....we hope that you are well wherever in the world you may be, and of course we look forward to seeing those who can make it to join us for another fantastic season. For those who can't - close your eyes for one moment whilst we send you a big hug full of warm Indian sunshine.
With love,
The Ashi Family x
