Simple yet life-changing resolutions for 2015

"The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective."

- Gilbert K. Chesterton,
writer, poet & philosopher

What can be more exciting than the promise of a new year and new beginnings? Now that the holiday revelry is behind us and we are well into January, this is the perfect time of the year to make all those life changes you have always been meaning to make to make your life more fulfilling, healthy and happy. It's time to take stock of all your dreams, aspirations and goals and work on making them a reality, one step at a time! One of the first steps towards change and self-love is to do something you have never done before!  So, we have listed out the resolutions that we at Ashiyana Yoga think you should make this year!

Step out of your comfort zone:

And we can't think of a better way to keep this resolution than by signing up for a yoga retreat with Ashiyana Yoga. It will force you to break out of the rut you are stuck in and do something you have never done before! Your everyday life, work and the monotony of a routine often tend to stress you out, without you even realising it. You end up spending very little time reflecting on your life and yourself. But when you take a decision to travel all the way to another country to be a part of a yoga retreat, you automatically 'check out' of your familiar environment and give yourself the precious gift of time! So, what better resolutions to make than to make a drastic change in your lifestyle by packing your bags and coming to glorious Goa for a  fabulous learning holiday filled with yoga, meditation, pranayama, walking on beaches, swimming in the sea and a whole lot more!

Detox from the digital world:

Leave the world of Facebook, Twitter and all things internet that has trapped you into a web of addiction... At least for a week! While we know that this is easier said than done, we think that a retreat at Ashiyana Yoga is a great way to keep up to this resolution. When you are away from home and in a beautiful foreign land for a life-changing learning yoga experience, you don't feel the need to constantly check your notifications, emails and stay connected to everything that keeps you distracted endlessly. When you are  in a new environment, your mind is constantly challenged with new stimuli and you never feel a moment of boredom. Go 'off the grid' At Ashiyana Yoga, located on the stunning Mandrem beach, with a river flowing near your serene accommodation. You will forget everything else and learn to enjoy the moment with a wholesome dose of yoga, meditation and a lot more! Just disconnect and discover!

Eat healthy:

Every year, you make this resolution and soon enough, you slip back into your bad eating habits by stuffing your body with junk it doesn't need.  So if you are thinking of detoxing your system from all things bad and set on the path to healthy living by eating right, then a retreat at Ashiyana Yoga is just what we recommend. Get set for wholesome, organic and nutritious meals, which are a fusion of freshly prepared Indian and western vegetarian cuisine. And for those who can't do with just the greens, fresh fish and chicken dishes are served a couple of days a week. Eat healthy, live healthy! That's a great way to set the tone for the rest of the year.

Open up the world:

We believe that you should make a resolution this year to expand your worldview, listen to fresh opinions and understand the globe better through its people. And travelling is the best way to do that! When you sign up for a yoga retreat at Ashiyana, you sign up for memories of a lifetime with like-minded people from all over the world. When you and a whole bunch of travellers are sharing space in a positive environment, you tend to open up to each other as you practice yoga together, eat together and discover your own selves together. Lasting friendships are made and you tend to become a more sensitive and empathetic human being as you slowly learn to understand the world through the eyes of people from different countries, backgrounds and mindsets. You come to the retreat as a stranger and leave as family!

Discover yourself:

There is no resolution as important as this. In the daily hustle-bustle of life, we forget to listen to the most important thing in the world - our inner voice. In 2015, promise to spend some quality time with yourself by rewarding yourself a solo yoga holiday in Goa. Travel to a new land alone, practice yoga in a serene setting in Mandrem beach, enjoy the tropical weather, go for a swim everyday, take a siesta on a hammock, read a book or two, explore the neighbourhood on a scooter, eat local cuisine, rekindle your spiritual side and do all the things you would otherwise in your life back home. You will see yourself in a new light like you have never done before. Come, fall in love with yourself at Ashiyana Yoga!

Change your life in 2015! To do that, sign up for retreats, trainings or holidays at Ashiyana Yoga.
